COVID-19: 49 travelers among 654 fresh cases in J&K; tally mounts to 31,371 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 21 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 653 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 49 travelers taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 31,371. Of the total 31,371 positive cases, 24,495 are from Kashmir and 6,876 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 654 new cases, 540 belong to Kashmir division while as 114 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 24,495 including 18,453 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,876 including 5,352 recoveries and 41 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,973 including 5,490 from Kashmir division and 1,483 from Jammu division. With 580 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 23,805 which is 75.88 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 7,614 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,876. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 206 from Srinagar, 51 from Baramulla, 33 from Pulwama, 68 from Budgam, 45 from Anantnag, 40 from Kulgam, 29 from Kupwara, 52 from Bandipora and 16 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 114 from Jammu division include 63 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 11 from Kuthua, 13 from Udhampur, 02 from Ramban, 02 from Samba, 11 from Doda, 02 from Poonch, 02 from Reasi and 05 from Kishtiwar", officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 7,614 positive cases including 189 deaths and 6,188 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,586 including 93 deaths and 1,909 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,238 including 1,781 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,044 including 1,439 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Budgam, 1,992 including 44 deaths and 1,515 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,793 including 1,529 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,617 cases including 1,466 and 27 deaths are from Shopian, 1,753 including 1,199 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,748 including 874 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,110 including 553 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 2,196 including 1,511 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Jammu district, 804 including 708 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 706 including 590 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 693 including 607 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 634 including 608 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 610 including 431 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 363 including 305 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 337 including 270 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 342 including 152 recoveries are from Reasi and 191 including 170 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 426,670 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,078 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,973 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 333,794 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,232 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 844,641 samples are available. Out of 844,641 the number of samples tested negative stands at 813,270 while 31,371 have been tested positive, among them 6,973 are active and 23,805 persons have recovered—(KNO)
